Our Horses
Percheron's
Percheron draft horses originated from the Perche region of France, these magnificent creatures have made significant contributions throughout history. The breed traces its roots back to the 8th century, where they were initially bred for their remarkable strength, endurance and intelligence, all while being gentle giants. This made them the preferred choice for heavy labor tasks, such as carrying Knights into battle, working the land or hauling heavy loads.
Percheron’s are easily recognizable by their massive build, powerful legs, and distinctive gray (white) or black coat. They typically stand between 15 to 19 hands high and can weigh onwards of 2,600 pounds. Their muscular physique and elegant movement make them a sight to behold.
Percherons are docile enough for leisurely trail rides yet powerful enough to haul giant logs from the forest. Their intelligence and work ethic also makes them ideal for Amish farms, cattle ranches, and carriage companies. Bring home a Percheron's strength, beauty and brains to be your new best friend.
Our horses are calm, well-trained and experienced in traffic. They receive the best of care and grooming, including regular vet check ups and annual vaccinations. They are fed high quality food and spend a majority of their time in our large pasture. On average, they only work one or two days a week, if that (during peak months). These horses are not just our business partners, they are part of our family.
